Thesis for Eco-Acoustic Avowal: Step Into the Light is an interactive light and sound installation in which a high fidelity recording of the inner biological and ecological vibrations of a tree are reproduced and physically contained within the circumference of a spotlight using an ultrasonic directional speaker, thus only accessible when viewers/listeners position their head within the beam of light. Step Into the Light, is the first of a series of ecologically-minded installations which combine directional audio and voluminous beams of light. Step Into the Light debuted at Currents New Media Festival 2023, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
